We are very excited after the announcements on Monday made by the Prime Minister, that weddings could happen with no restrictions from the 21st June.
However Boris Johnson has said that this may change and that the 21st June 2021 will be the earliest date for weddings without restrictions.
Boris Johnson laid out the road map to return the wedding industry to some normality, with weddings with restrictions hopefully happening from 8th March.
What are the key dates for weddings returning?
- 8th March: Weddings with 6 people
- 12th April: Weddings with 15 people
- 17th May: Weddings with 30 people
- 21st June: Weddings with no restrictions
However the PM has made it clear that future decisions on restrictions will be driven by the data, so this could all change.
How should you respond to the announcement?
If your wedding is booked for after the 21st June, it’s a waiting game. If you have not been in contact with your suppliers I would recommend getting in touch. Find out what their policies are if you need to postpone or reduce the size of your wedding. I would also make sure you know how much notice the suppliers need if you do need to cancel, postpone or change your requirements.
If your wedding is before the 21st June, contact your suppliers immediately. The majority of our couples that are booked for May have already been in contact and we’ve been able to accommodate quite a few of their requests for date changes. However suppliers are very booked up and as restrictions lift this will increase, so make sure you contact your suppliers as soon as possible to see what can be done.
